When we opened the house in 2021, our elder daughter Inès had just been born. We equipped the Lodge the way we would have liked to find it on arrival.

Where to sleep with a baby
The simplest set-up: parents in the Suite on the second floor, with the travel cot; brothers and sisters in Inès and Olivia's room right next door, with the changing table. The bathroom and its baby bath are on the same landing, so the whole bedtime routine happens on one floor.
If two families come together, the other family takes the garden level with its own shower room: night-time wake-ups don't travel through the whole house.
The house is on three floors. With a child who is just starting to walk, keep an eye on the stairs: stair gates are provided.
What to pack
- Your usual nappies, milk and baby food (Clohars-Carnoët village is 5 minutes by car)
- The comforter, the sleeping bag, a spare dummy
- Your baby monitor and a night light, which are not provided, and a booster seat if your child uses one
- A baby carrier: the coastal path is much easier than with a pushchair
- A sun hat, mineral sun cream and a UV T-shirt: the wind makes you forget the sun
- A small beach tent or parasol
- Buckets and nets, for the beach and rock pooling
Outings with a little one
The harbour, on foot
The quays, the boats coming in, the green lighthouse at the end of the road: the first walk starts at the front door.
Two sheltered beaches
Les Grands Sables in Le Pouldu, tucked away and protected from the waves, and Kerfany-les-Pins, calm at the mouth of the Bélon river. Both have lifeguards in July and August from 1 pm to 7 pm, with a first-aid post. The full comparison is in our beach guide.
Family meet-ups
In summer, the local authority (Quimperlé Communauté) runs get-togethers for 0 - 6 year-olds and their parents on Bellangenêt beach: games, stories, walks. The programme changes every year.

Your questions
From what age can we come with a baby?
From birth. The house has underfloor heating and is equipped for the very young.
Is there a cot?
Yes, a travel cot is provided: it goes in the Suite, the parents' room. A high chair is also available.
Can we bath a baby?
Yes, a small baby bath is set up in the second-floor bathroom, next to the grown-ups' bath.
Is the coastal path suitable for a pushchair?
Not really: it is narrow and stony in places. Bring a baby carrier. The harbour quays, on the other hand, are fine with a pushchair.
